Excellent, original, masterful.

Excellent read. Very original and entertaining. Howard Gaukrodger knows the climate facts and he has put them masterfully in the story. So not only a great read, but also educational. I would love to have the bear Maluk!

Grips your attention from the start

10 June, 2024

The plot quickly evolves and grips your attention from the start. It’s well written and engaging. Some of the names in Lufianblid take getting used to, but we have two more books to look forward to and that will give me time to learn them better.

I loved Maluk and although his super powers seem a bit exaggerated it is very fun to imagine a world where it’s already possible. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, and particularly the youth of today. They are the adults of the future and however unfair, they will have to deal with climate change all their lives. Thank you.

Good enough to be made into a film

22 May, 2024

An exciting read about climate events and big business with a little sub-plot of young love. I think the book is good enough to be made into a film, inspiring teenagers & giving them confidence to challenge the way we live today. There’s a wide range of interesting characters and fascinating techy bits interwoven into an exciting story that builds to a thrilling climax. Climate facts and figures show research but they don’t clog up the story. It’s modern, exciting, imaginative, the right length – overall a great story.

Rich, original, and the characters are very special

It’s a great story. I think it’s rich and original. The characters are very special. I was really ‘sucked’ into it. Although I’m not a regular reader (and specially not in English) I read it with pleasure despite the serious tone. The way the writer made the two worlds intertwine was really good. The subject is very actual and the combination with AI (Maluk) even more. Howard Gaukrodger is a gifted author and I hope he will write more novels.

Interesting, very well researched, and engaging

10 May, 2024

I found it interesting, very well researched and engaging. It addresses the global warming crisis in a forthright manner including the actions taken that ignore the problem for personal benefit. Increasing our awareness of both of these issues is incredibly important and anything that will increase our knowledge and understanding of the imminent crisis is critical.

We need to do everything possible to get this message across. I hope the book will appeal to everyone as a fun and interesting story, and one with a message that will inspire us to do whatever we can to “make a difference”. Action is required now…. it’s now or never….
