Lufian names

Published: 1 May, 2026

Why the name, ‘Lufianblid’? What does it mean? How do you say it? And why is planet Earth called Felacynn?

Great questions; I’m glad you asked. Just as in any good story, a writer has to create something original, something that triggers curiosity, sparks emotions. The names I’ve chosen for places and characters took many hours over many months to get right. With a bit of digging, you’ll uncover the hidden meanings – meanings that help describe the characters. Add a comment below if you think you’ve discovered any!

To get you started, I’ll answer the question in the post title: why the name, Lufianblid?  – “with a silent ‘d’, if you don’t mind”, said Tuska. ‘Lufian’ means ‘love’ in Old English, and ‘blid’ means ‘happiness’. Lufianblid is therefore the land of love and happiness. Try to find out what ‘Felacynn’ means.

As I continue this thread, I’ll release a few more interesting background facts. Let me know what you want to read about, and I’ll try to incorporate your topics in subsequent posts.
